Adrian Smith
Film historian, writer and lecturer at the University of Sussex
Born in the West Midlands in 1976, Adrian has worked in film and media education for almost 25 years. He received his PhD in 2018. His research interests are in British and European film distribution and exhibition in the 1960s and 1970s. He has been a contributor to Cinema Retro magazine since 2007, and has contributed essays, commentary tracks and other bonus content to blu ray releases from many boutique labels including the BFI, Arrow Video, Network, Indicator, Severin Films and Vinegar Syndrome. His co-authored book Norman J. Warren: Gentleman of Terror (published by Creepy*Images) was a major oral history and archival study of an important British independent director.
